Directed by Henri-George Clouzot and considered one of France's darkest of thrillers, Les Diaboliques is cruel and terrifying murder story set at a gloomy, rundown boarding school in provincial France. Michel Delasalle, the cruel and abusive headmaster, becomes the target of a murder plot hatched by an unlikely duo — his wife and his mistress, bound by their mutual hatred for the man. But a few days after they commit the crime, Michel’s corpse mysteriously disappears.
