Screen Porty starts the 26-27 community film season with this moving, heartfelt gem of British comedy cinema written by and starring Tim Key & Tom Basden, The Ballad of Wallis Island follows the reunion of folk music (and former romantic) partners Herb (Basden) and Nell (Carey Mulligan) on the request of lottery-winning millionaire Charles (Key).
Eccentric lottery winner Charles (Tim Key) dreams of getting his favourite musicians, McGwyer Mortimer, back together. The fantasy becomes real when the bandmates and former lovers agree to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.
